Welcome to the Wishpom Vintage Image Emporium!
I am a keen collector of vintage postcards, photographs and ephemera. Although I cannot always put my finger on what draws me to a certain image, I have a particular passion for images depicting fancy dress, holidays, social gatherings, celebrations, entertainment and pastimes. I am also often drawn to the fashion, the backdrops and the characters who look out from the photos and come to life in my imagination.
Rescued snippets of history. Little glimpses into the past that reveal lost and untold stories.
I hope you enjoy looking at these treasures as much as I have enjoyed collecting them! I have listed everything I know about each image, but unfortunately many of the images I collect do not include any identifying information. Sometimes I do enjoy piecing the puzzle together and filling out the back story, I have even been known to wander down ‘Google Street View’ to see if buildings still exist! The internet is an incredible place.
If you are searching for a particular subject or theme please get in touch, I have 1000’s of images in my archives that have not been scanned, with new images being added all the time. This virtual gallery is just a miniscule selection!
Note: I’d really like to continue sharing my collection and keep big ugly watermarks off the images so that they can be enjoyed by everyone.
